We’re shifting focus to our Marvel NOW! Reading Order by going back to the beginning and filling in all of the gaps we’re missing, starting with the very beginning of the era. Our first update includes nearly 300 issues and guides you through the beginnings of Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers saga, All-New X-Men, Superior Spider-Man, and so much more!
We’ve been catching up with the latest releases from the past year and realized our Fresh Start reading order wasn’t quite complete. Before moving on to the next era, there were a few last gaps we had to fill in such as storylines like Devil’s Reign, Beyond, Infinite Destinies, and a few other odds and ends. The Modern Age of Marvel continues with our Secret Wars II reading order! And while this massive event doesn’t necessarily live up to its predecessor, it interacts and crosses over with some terrific series and storylines in books like Fantastic Four, Avengers, New Mutants, Uncanny X-Men, and more. Our guide will take you through all of the books leading up to, during, and immediately after the event.
Finally, we’re excited to present to you the first chapter of our Marvel Modern Age reading order! And while the Modern Age of comics technically continues to this day, we’re specifically talking about the era from 1984-1997 before Marvel regularly did line-wide relaunches, which we’ve already begun to cover in subsequent guides. The first part of our guide deals with the aftermath of Secret Wars, and includes some exciting character changes like Spider-Man’s black suit, She-Hulk joining the Fantastic Four, and more!
Before we can reach the dramatic third act of the Marvel Disassembled era, we have to survive the Secret Invasion! Second to Civil War, this is one of Marvel’s longest and most expansive events, so we’ve taken care to ensure our reading order is as accurate and easy to follow as possible.
