Film: Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

Official Synopsis

Super Hero partners Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne return to continue their adventures as Ant-Man and The Wasp. Together, with Hope’s parents Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, the family finds themselves exploring the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible.

Viewing Order

This film kicks off Phase 5 and chronologically takes place in the first half of 2026.

Series: Loki Season 2

Official Synopsis

Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority. Along with Mobius, Hunter B-15 and a team of new and returning characters, Loki navigates an ever-expanding and increasingly dangerous multiverse in search of Sylvie, Judge Renslayer, Miss Minutes and the truth of what it means to possess free will and glorious purpose.

Viewing Order

The second season of Loki mostly takes place in the TVA, which operates outside of the timeline. So where is the best spot to place it? While it technically picks up moments after the first season ends, the final episode briefly references the events of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, so this is the earliest it should be watched.

Series: What If…? Season 2

Season two of “What If…?” continues the journey as The Watcher guides viewers through the vast multiverse, introducing brand new and familiar faces throughout the MCU. The series questions, revisits and twists classic Marvel Cinematic moments with an incredible voice cast that includes a host of stars who reprise their iconic roles.

Viewing Order

Because this season includes several new characters and plot elements introduced in Phase 4 of the MCU, watching it toward the beginning of Phase 5 as the multiverse continues to grow and expand makes the most sense.

Film: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

Official Synopsis

Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him to defend the universe along with protecting one of their own. A mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.

Viewing Order

The official Disney+ timeline places this movie after Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, meaning it likely occurs in the middle of 2026. Other than that there is little connecting it to other events in the MCU, other than the implication that several years have passed since Avengers: Endgame.

Series: Secret Invasion

Official Synopsis

Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.

Viewing Order

Some of the events of this series take place during Russia’s Unity Day, placing it in the Fall of 2026.

Film: The Marvels

Official Synopsis

The Marvels will feature Brie Larson returning to the role of Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers. In the film, she’ll be joined by Teyonah Parris, who was first introduced as adult Monica Rambeau in Marvel Studios’ WandaVision, along with Iman Vellani, who will appear as Ms. Marvel.

Viewing Order

The Marvels takes place toward the end of 2026, shortly after Secret Invasion.

Film: Deadpool & Wolverine

Viewing Order

While the bulk of this movie takes place in the TVA and the Void, two locations that exist outside of time, the remainder of the movie takes place in the year 2024 on the alternate reality of Earth-10005. While chronologically this places it earlier than contemporary movies set in the MCU’s main universe, because it clearly takes place after the second season of Loki it’s fine to watch it here in release order.
